Large palmettes and flaring, leaf-like forms fill this borderless Chobi rug in rows across a sage and grey-green field. Tall ogival cartouches in slate blue and soft green hold smaller palmettes and blossoms, and between them, gold and caramel leaves sweep up and outward. Lavender-grey stems, small rosettes and chocolate brown accents complete the palette.
The bold, large-scale palmette drawing recalls the Garrus designs of Bijar in western Iran, which in turn adapt the palmettes and arabesques of Safavid court carpets. Here the motifs are enlarged and softened, and the colours are kept quiet and earthy, so the pattern reads from across a room without feeling busy.
Chobi rugs are a modern style woven in Pakistan and Afghanistan, known for muted, washed colours and designs adapted from older Persian rugs. The field shows gentle shifts of tone, especially in the sage ground, which adds depth to the surface.

We strive to capture the rugs’ true colors in daylight photography, but they might appear slightly different in low-light environments or on different screen settings.
We’re happy to provide photos taken in different lighting or answer any questions.

Care Instructions
Vacuuming
Regular vacuuming keeps your rug looking its best and extends its lifespan, reducing the need for professional cleaning. For best results, vacuum both the front and back sides of the rug from side to side, avoiding the fringes.
Spills
If spills occur, blot them immediately with a cloth. Then spray water on the spot and blot again, repeating as needed. For pet urine, spray white vinegar to help break down the enzymes that cause odor.
Professional Rug Cleaning
It’s generally recommended to have your rug professionally cleaned every five years, but trust your instincts—if it appears to need cleaning, don’t hesitate to have it washed. Hand-knotted carpets should never be dry cleaned or steam cleaned. Wall-to-wall carpet cleaning companies are usually not a good option. Always choose a professional rug cleaner who specializes in cleaning fine, handwoven carpets. If you’re in the GTA, we can provide professional rug cleaning for you!
