Luri, also written Lori, identifies weaving traditions associated with Lur communities in western and southwestern Iran. Pile rugs and flatweaves can show bold geometric drawing, stylized animals and flexible compositions. Materials and structures vary by community and period, so the ethnic label should not be treated as one fixed design formula.
