Collection: Persian Rugs

A Persian rug is a heavy textile made in Iran for personal use, local sale, and export. These rugs are unique among Oriental carpets because of their intricate designs. They are made by nomads, village and town workshops, and royal court factories. Urban rugs showcase detailed botanical designs made of silk while village rugs reflect Iran’s culture and history. These fibers are colored using natural dyes and woven into bold designs. Regarded as works of art, they can take months or years to complete.
