Our Story
Hello and welcome to our shop. We, Ellie and Hanif, along with our furry kids Joey and Maya, make up the Rug the Rock team dedicated to sharing our passion for exquisite handwoven rugs.
When we moved from Persia (Iran) to St. John's Canada to attend school we quickly realized that the rugs we loved weren't available in the local market. With a desire to fill this gap, we began curating a collection of one-of-a-kind Persian, Turkish, and Afghan rugs that are handcrafted with care and imbued with history.
Hunting one-of-a-kind rugs makes us happy. Every rug we offer has been thoughtfully selected and curated, ensuring that each one is truly unique and authentic. From the intricate knotting and weaving techniques to the use of traditional dyes, our rugs are made with unparalleled craftsmanship and attention to detail.
