A deep charcoal-brown field gives this large Afghan rug a striking contrast of dark ground and soft colour. Large palmettes and sweeping, sickle-shaped leaves alternate in orientation across the field, with some facing towards one end and others towards the opposite end. Aqua, pale blue, coral, orange, soft yellow, sage and cream appear throughout the leaves and floral motifs, with pink and deep red accents. Fine flowering stems and small star-shaped blossoms fill the spaces between the larger forms.
The wide aqua border has scrolling stems, small flowers and leaves along the sides. Across the two ends, larger scrolling arabesques and cloudband-like forms in coral, cream and dark brown create a different arrangement. A narrow red border with repeating light-coloured motifs frames the rug.
The large palmettes and scrolling, split-leaf forms recall the Garrus designs associated with Bijar, as well as the broader Harshang, or crab-pattern, tradition of Persian carpets. Chobi rugs are a modern style woven in Pakistan and Afghanistan, often drawing on older Persian designs in softer palettes. Subtle lighter and darker streaks add depth to the charcoal-brown ground.

Refund policy
We accept returns up to 7 days after delivery if the item is unused and in its original condition, and we will refund the full order amount of item(s), but our valued customer is responsible to pay the shipping cost.

Care Instructions
Vacuuming
Regular vacuuming keeps your rug looking its best and extends its lifespan, reducing the need for professional cleaning. For best results, vacuum both the front and back sides of the rug from side to side, avoiding the fringes.
Spills
If spills occur, blot them immediately with a cloth. Then spray water on the spot and blot again, repeating as needed. For pet urine, spray white vinegar to help break down the enzymes that cause odor.
Professional Rug Cleaning
It’s generally recommended to have your rug professionally cleaned every five years, but trust your instincts—if it appears to need cleaning, don’t hesitate to have it washed. Hand-knotted carpets should never be dry cleaned or steam cleaned. Wall-to-wall carpet cleaning companies are usually not a good option. Always choose a professional rug cleaner who specializes in cleaning fine, handwoven carpets. If you’re in the GTA, we can provide professional rug cleaning for you!
