The dark blue field with a column of terracotta conjoined hexagonal medallions flanked by half medallions all with plants, flower heads and animals, within an ivory border enclosing continuous star flower heads linked by angular vines.
The reverse knotting detail indicates that this runner is of the origin as stated in the Guarantee Line. Caucasian weavings display rectilinear drawn flora and fauna forms with motifs often totemic in appearance. The composition is typically Karabakh in style and displays iconography also associated with Kurdish weavings from Northwest Persia. The colors are from a traditional regional palette, the tones of which suggest that this runner was probably woven around the date as indicated. There is evidence of wear, as advised, and there are losses to end outer guard borders. The valuation reflects the condition as presented.
